Vintage Bolo Tie with Folk Art Pheasant Slider – Handcrafted from Jack Pine Cone
This midcentury bolo tie with its pheasant focal is unique and so very cool! The bolo slider is handcrafted from a closed Jack Pine cone and was cut longitudinally through the heart of the cone. The artist painted the pheasant using the heart of the cone as the body and brushing outward for the wings so the bird appears to be in flight. It is finely detailed with a reddish head, two eyes, a yellow beak, and a green ruff.
The back of the bolo focal is the natural cone, and the front and back are coated with resin to give it a hard finish. The dark brown cord is finished with brass bolo tips. The slider is 7/8 inch by 1 ½ inches. The poly cord measures 17 inches from the center back or 34 inches total.
This bolo tie is in excellent vintage condition. The clasp has some scratches and the bolo tips are a bit tarnished, but it is otherwise in excellent condition.Bolo ties are also known as bola ties, bolero ties, or string ties and were traditionally worn as western wear.Recently, however, they have gained popularity as an accessory for both men and women.
This unique bolo tie is a great way to add pizzazz to your Zoom meeting or spice up a dinner conversation.
