Have some foxy fun with these realistic cosplay ears:D

These 2 inch fox cosplay ears are made from 3 ounce vegetable tanned genuine leather, water shaped into form. The exterior has been dressed with long haired natural reddish brown goat fur with natural black/ dark brown colored tips. Ear edges are hand trimmed with white rabbit. The hide wraps inside for a deep natural inner ear look.

The inner surface is lightly texture embossed and painted your choice of color in environmentally friendly matte acrylic paint (shown in pale pink).

The leather of the ear bottom sits flush against the head and adds strength and depth to the ear shape. It is secured with non-toxic tacky glue and small nickel rivets. The inner edge has a crescent cut pattern to echo an ear canal.

These ears are adjustable and can be positioned according to the wearer’s preference for maximum expression. Running through the bottom piece is a double row of leather pin loops, visible in the third picture which shows the bottom of the ear.

Dimensions of the leather base: 2 1/2 inches tall. The base of each is slightly wider than 2 inches. The depth is slightly less than 2 inches. The fur adds more visual mass. Light in weight.

Easily wear the ears using the commonly preferred method of a slim black lacquered metal headband, offered as a free option at checkout.

Alternatively you can use you own flat clips or pins to fasten the ears into your hair. This option offers even more choice for how to position your ears, but can take some skill and practice. Not recommended for those with very fine or slippery hair.

Some people choose to affix their ears to hats, hoods or other types of bands.

I use environmentally friendly and responsibly sourced materials. I use non-toxic water soluble glue and paint. The genuine fur and leather are from animals used in the food industry such as cow, goat and rabbit. These organic materials are a planet-healthier choice than plastic derived faux fur.

Ear Care Instructions

Keep Dry. If you are wearing your ears outdoors where it may drizzle, maybe bring a couple zip lock bags to pop over your ears like little raincoats.

Don’t expose to flame or high temperatures or store in direct sunlight.

Don’t crush.

Best to store on the band and on a headform or other support. You may wish to keep the shipping box for storage.

Minimize touching the fur with your fingers as skin oils will transfer. To groom the fur, use a small clean brush such as a new toothbrush. You can also dry brush a little baking soda through the fur to clean.

How to Wear

The ears are made so you can position them along the band, but it is best to find your favorite position and leave the ears fixed there. Consistent repositioning of the ears along the band may contribute to the leather cord on the bottom becoming loose.

If you want to wear the ears off the band and and plan to use clips or pins, I suggest crossing the clips into an x-shape at least on two points per ear base to help create a secure hold.

These ears were hand shaped and are a one of a kind piece. Variances in the pattern of the hair follicles in the fur hide contribute to a more natural look and ears may not be completely symmetrical. *Colors may vary slightly from photographs.
