ESSENCE :
Black Alder (Alnus glutinosa) is traditionally used to make magic wands. Alder protects against the evil eye. The alder carries within it the symbolism of the passage between the worlds. He lives in the swamps, intermediate zones between the mortal world and the other world. We can also note that the Gallic people of the Arvernes take their name from Alder, “verno” in Gallic.

PROOF AND OWNERSHIP OF THE BAGUETTE:
At the time of the red deer slab, in September, the males come to this swamp and rub their antlers on the young alders. This wand is now associated with the spirit of the deer.

WHAT IS A MAGIC WAND:
A magic wand sees its own spirit born in it from the spirit of the plant and the spirit of the one who will possess it.

HARVEST PHILOSOPHY AND RITUAL:
Each piece that I take from nature must have a particularity. The plant must have gone through a test marked in its bark and from which it emerged victorious.
It may be a deer has rubbed the plant with its antlers, a branch broken by the wind, a bulge caused by the mistletoe… Thus the plant has drawn a superior force from the ordeal, and this force now inhabits the one who possesses the object.
The mark on the bark makes the object absolutely unique, just as the person who acquires it is a unique being.
When I take a wand from the forest, it is always a branch and not a whole plant. I begin by asking the plant if it accepts this sample. Sometimes I feel like it’s not necessary, so I leave it in place.
Each wand is made by myself, shaped by hand, then carefully sanded.
